Below are all of my Abstract Works. This year, we learned about many artists, their compositions, and their diverse style when approaching an abstract piece. Please click once on an image to enlarge.

"The Femicide"

February 2024, Acrylic Paint on Canvas

This painting is my personal visual depiction of the urgent issue of two marginalized groups who are targeted - South Asian and Indigenous women in Canada. The colors are often associated with each ethnicity and have cultural significance within their meaning. Through this artwork, I aim to raise awareness about and gender-based violence, urging action and support for these vulnerable groups.

"Jiro Yoshihara Composition"

January 2024, Ink on paper

This artwork is inspired by Jiro Yoshihara. I tried to capture the basis of his work - contrast, form, and shape.

"Ubiquitous Blue"

January 2024, acrylic on Canvas paper

This artwork is inspired by Jackson Pollock's splatter action artworks. I tried to capture one color and how it can be expressed as a series of various emotions. Dark blues represent sadness and regret while light blues represent innocence and brightness.

"Mondrian Composition"

December 2023, Oil Paint on paper

This artwork is inspired by Piet Mondrian. I tried to capture the basis of his work - color opposites, asymmetry, and primary color by using contrast and balance.

"Mark Rothko Composition"

January 2024,  Acrylic on canvas paper

This artwork is inspired by Mark Rothko. Rothko commonly used various colors to covey different emotions. The colors I used (light red and light green-yellow) both represent happiness and harmony.

"My Pal Foot Foot"

January 2024, Ink on Canvas paper

This artwork is inspired by Kandinsky, and his art incorporating music. The song I chose was "My Pal Foot Foot" and I think my piece conveys well the emotions of confusion and meaningless noise. I mean, literally just listen to the song...
